O: Tue Moderate easy pace Hikers / Mt McCoy to Ronald Reagan Library

Moderately paced 5.5 miles and about 880 ft gain. (That is round trip including walk to and around Reagan library). One of the classic hikes in Simi Valley with scenic vistas for miles in all directions. The hike to Mt. McCoy is 1.5 miles with approx 600 ft gain, lots of switchbacks. We will take the Reagan Library Connector Trail descending the mountain to entry road and up to the Library about another mile. We will tour the outside of the Reagan Library (free) and return by the same route. Meet 8:00AM at the trailhead at 4 Washburn St., Simi Valley. Directions: From 101 Ventura Freeway in Thousand Oaks, take the 23 Moorpark Freeway north. Take exit 17 and head east on Olsen/Madera Road to Royal and turn Left (east). Go 150 feet then turn right on Acapulco Ave for 200 feet then turn left onto Washburn and go 0.4 miles to trailhead. Parking on the street in residential neighborhood.
