Hitchcock Woods located next to downtown Aiken SC is the largest Urban Forest in the country. Located in the sandy foothills we will follow Whitney, Old Country, Witch Hazel, Red Cliffs, and Mr. Fletchers Ride Trails. These trails traverse some elevations where encounters with open meadows, wetlands, and small creeks, provide peaceful views and opportunities for wildlife spotting. Join us for this end of year hike to work off those holiday calories!
Level: Moderate (3 miles, deep sand)
Signup Instructions: Meeting time is 11:15 for a 11:30 departure. Dogs are allowed on nonretractable leash but cannot enter the Woods until 11:30 due to horse/hunt activities
Bring: good hiking shoes or supportive sneakers, water, snack, walking stick or binoculars if desired
