Join Us for the Conservation Committee Meeting with Our New Conservation Chair!Our conservation team is dedicated to preserving green spaces, raising conservation awareness, and engaging in community activities to enhance our environment.We're actively involved in protecting Pinellas' green spaces, educating the public about conservation issues and solutions, and participating in initiatives to better our environment and community.Meet our new 2026 Conservation Chair, Tim Hughes. Tim holds both an AS and BS in Environmental Studies and brings thirty years of experience in implementing environmental management systems. With the past 25 years focused on best practices in stormwater management, stream assessments, riparian reforestation, and watershed protection, Tim spent two decades working for the Environmental Management Division of Public Works in Prince William County, Virginia. Now residing in Clearwater with his wife, he enjoys retirement while volunteering his skills and expertise with the Suncoast Sierra.We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Kira Barrera for her steadfast support as our Conservation Leader with the Suncoast Sierra Club. Her dedication to enhancing the local Pinellas environment is unparalleled, and we eagerly anticipate her future contributions to the Sierra Club and our community.We invite you to join us at our upcoming meeting to welcome Tim and continue our shared commitment to conservation.
