Fisheating Creek is the only free-flowing tributary to Lake Okeechobee. Framed by bald cypress swamps and hardwood hammocks, Fisheating Creek has long been valued for its scenic quality unmarred by houses and other human intrusions. Fisheating Creek is critical to the long-term welfare of Florida panthers, Florida black bears, swallow-tailed kites, whooping and sandhill cranes, crested caracara, and a number of other species native to the area.
We will launch at 9 a.m from the boat ramp at the Fisheating Creek Outpost, 7555 U.S. 27, Palmdale, FL.  We will paddle upstream and perhaps get as far as Burnt Bridge and then paddle back to the launch.  Be prepared to paddle up to 15 miles.  Some experience required because of distance.
There is a day use fee.  Register and pay at the store upon entrance.  Camping and boat rentals also available.  See website
Trip Leader:  Ron Haines 561 315-0528  Call or text to cancel.
Required: PFD (on and fastened), whistle, ten feet of rope. Also bring hydration and snacks as you wish and whatever personal items you need.  Each participant must register separately and read and sign the waiver.
