Snowshoe at either Valles Caldera or Coyote Call

Sunday Feb 1: Snowshoe at at either Valles Caldera Hidden Valley or Coyote Call Trail. Both are beautiful, choice by leader will be based on conditions. Experience needed - If you have snowshoed before, sign up to meet at the Sandia casino parking lot off of tramway to arrange carpooling to Valles Caldera. We will meet at 8:30 am. Drivers must have experience driving in snow and high clearance AWD or 4WD vehicles. It will take us about 1-1/2 hrs drive time each way. Participants should chip in for carpooling for their drivers. This high altitude, approx three-hour long snowshoe is approximately 3. miles round trip and about 500 feet of elevation gain. The group will stay together. Please make sure you are physically fit - snowshoeing at this altitude is roughly 2x as hard as hiking. No kids, no dogs please. Register no later than January 20th. Recommended gear list and additional information will be provided one week beforehand.Trip Leader: Debbie Bryant 832 692 1881, bryade@gmail.com Level: Moderate Location: Valles Caldera Sign up: www.riograndesierraclub.org/calendar
