This is a flat, easy, pleasant hike along Big Laurel Creek, northwest of Asheville in Marshall, near Hot Springs. The hike follows along the river for 3.7 miles to the confluence with the French Broad River (roundtrip total 7.4 mile hike) where we will stop and have lunch and then turn back. There is a minimal change in elevation and the hike time, with breaks, will be approximately 4 to 4.5 hours.
 

Level: Easy

Bring: Water, Lunch/Snacks, Sturdy Shoes/Boots, Warm Layers, Gloves, Hat, Hiking Poles (suggested)

Signup Restrictions: Open to all ages. No unaccompanied minors. No dogs.

Additional Directions: Our pre-hike meeting will be in Weaverville. The specific address will be provided to participants upon registration.
