January 24-26 (Saturday-Monday):  Gather at the bottom of the Pole Creek Road for group gear distribution and a pre-trip briefing Saturday morning at 9:30am.  Ski or snowshoe up the Pole Creek Road to the hut.  Optional local touring from the hut Saturday afternoon.  Sunday is expected to be touring in the area, possible destinations are Deep Creek and Silver Peak.  Dinners will be central commissary, breakfast and lunches will be participants responsibility.  Monday morning is available for touring.  Participants will clean the hut before departing.  Contact Hal Tompkins hal_tompkins@yahoo.com for more information and to sign up.  Maximum number of participants is 15 people, including the leader.  Cost will be $150 per person and checks should be made out to the Ski Touring Section.  The cost covers the hut, two dinners, and fuel.  Participants should supply their own breakfasts and lunches.

     Overall trip difficulty is intermediate.  Required gear is skis or snowshoes and winter touring clothes.  Avalanche safety gear (beacon, probe, shovel) is recommended but not required. Terrain to the hut is forested with little avalanche danger.  Terrain beyond the hut can have open slopes which involve more risk.
