Meet: Almaden Quicksilver Mockingbird entrance.  19535 Mockingbird Hill Ln, San Jose, CA 95120.
Parking is free.  Bathrooms and water are available at the trail head.

Description: We will meet in the Mockingbird parking lot.  From Hwy 85 in San Jose, take the Almaden Expressway exit and go south 4.4 miles to Almaden Road. Turn right, go 0.5 miles, then turn right on Mockingbird Hill Ln and go for about 0.5 miles.

We will hike at a moderate pace.  We will start on the Hacienda trail, then along Mine Hill trail until we reach San Cristobal trail.  We will view the restored San Cristobal Mine entrance which is 0.1 miles from this junction. Then we retrace our route to the junction of the Mine Hill and April trails. From here, we follow the April, the Great Eastern and Day Tunnel trails to the Randol trail.  We then take the Buena Vista trail to the New Almaden trail to return to the starting point.

Adverse weather or trail conditions may shorten or cancel the hike. We practice "leave no trace" and carry out everything we carry in.

Cold drinks and light snacks after the hike (optional).

This is a back country hike. Please complete your medical form and carry with you (hikers will be asked to confirm this with the leader)

Wear/bring: at least 1L water, lunch and something to sit on, completed Medical Form, sun protection, sturdy shoes / boots, layered clothing, poles if you use them.
