The Water Committee of the chapter works with legislators, state agencies, local water agencies, and industrial/agricultural water users so that the chapter water resources receive environmentally sensitive management.
Goals
Protect the public trust by supporting any measures or ordinances that regulate and monitor surface and groundwater sources for sustainability.
Promote organizations, movements, interest groups that are working to return the fisheries and the watersheds they depend on to ecological integrity.
Evaluate large energy projects and possibly polluting industries in the coastal areas of the chapter and support county plans that regulate development along ecological sensitive zones
Increase representation of other groups in the chapter on the water committee
