Corn Mill Shoals Hike - DuPont State Forest

Join us for this scenic hike in the DuPont State Recreational Forest. Hike is rated moderate at approximately 6.5 miles round trip with elevation gains of a little over 550 feet. Hikers should be in good physical condition. This hike involves wet stream crossings, so bringing water shoes and a towel for drying feet is essential. The trail's turn around point is the scenic of Bridal Veil Falls (A good lunch spot). We'll meet at 8:30am in South Asheville. Plan for approximately 5 hours, including travel to and from trailhead.

Join us for this scenic hike in the DuPont State Recreational Forest.  Hike is rated moderate at approximately 6.5 miles round trip with elevation gains of a little over 550 feet.  Hikers should be in good physical condition. This hike involves wet stream crossings, so bringing water shoes and a towel for drying feet is essential.  The trail's turn around point is the scenic of Bridal Veil Falls (A good lunch spot).  We'll meet at 8:30am in South Asheville. Plan for approximately 5 hours, including travel to and from trailhead.

What to bring - Hiking poles are always encouraged, and will come in handy for stream crossing.  Bring sturdy hiking boots/shoes, layered clothing and rain gear, water shoes and a towel for drying feet.  Bring 1-2 liters of water, snacks and/or lunch. Depending on the temperature, bring gloves and a coat and hat. Hike will be rescheduled if temperatures are predicted to be extremely cold and/or in case of winter storm weather forecast.
