OverviewWe will backpack to the Steep Ravine Campsite and spend the night overlooking the ocean.
Sunday: Starting at the Bootjack Campground parking lot, we will take the Matt Davis Trail through forests and witness spectacular ocean views. On a clear day, we could see Stinson Beach and possibly the Farallon Islands 30 miles away. After spending some time at Stinson Beach, we will follow the Dipsea Trail to the Steep Ravine Campsites. Once the tents are set up, we can hike around and explore the area and the nearby beach.
Monday: The following day is open to optional day hiking to Muir Woods.
Tuesday: We will take the Steep Ravine Trail back up the mountain through magnificent forests of Redwood and Douglas fir trees, crossing Webb Creek several times. We will return to our cars at the Bootjack Campground before noon.
