Join us for a scales-and-tails adventure through Duke Forest as we hike, explore, and celebrate the amazing herpetofauna that call this ecosystem home! We will be partnering with Duke University’s Cagle Lab and Herpetofauna Project for a short hike in Duke Forest’s Durham Division up to Couch mountain.
When: 1/24/2026 from 10 AM- 1 PM
Where: Duke Forest Durham Division (Campus Box 90332, Durham, NC 27708; GPS coordinates: 36.02649 -78.98934)
Directions:
From Duke University’s West Campus, head west along Cameron Blvd/Hwy NC-751. Pass under the 15-501 bridge and travel straight through the roundabout. About 2.5 miles from the roundabout on your left, look for a “Duke Forest Event” sign that I will have placed along the roadside. Pull through the green gate posts and keep driving down the gravel Forest road until you see a Duke Forest staff member to direct you to parking.)
