Restoring Steelhead Populations
Healthy rivers are the lifeblood of thriving ecosystems. When rivers thrive, so do we, benefiting from clean water, abundant wildlife and recreational opportunities. In urbanized coastal California the challenge of restoring steelhead migration involves maintaining healthy waterways for people and wildlife. Learn about CalTrout’s ongoing projects that focus on habitat connectivity and improving the ecological resilience of San Juan Creek and San Mateo Creek watersheds, to protect endangered Southern steelhead from extinction.
