O: Trail Maintenance on the south Tenaja Trail

O: Trail Maintenance on the Tenaja Trail. Volunteers work on trails of the San Mateo Canyon Wilderness on a monthly basis. In April we will continue working on the Tenaja Trail. The start of the primary work zone is at mile 2.0. Round trip hiking distance is 5 miles with 900 foot elevation gain on the exit hike. Return to the trailhead is typically around 3 pm. This is a backcountry event which requires each participant to bring a Medical Form: https://www.sierraclub.org/sites/default/files/2025-06/medical-form-local-outings-1-0.pdf. Tools are provided. Additional Directions: Place the Medical Form in an envelop with your name on the outside.

Carpool: We will meet at the south OC rideshare location (31564 Rancho Viejo Rd, San Juan Capistrano) at 7:30 am to carpool to the trailhead. The drive time is 1 hr 15 min. Those who wish to drive separately can meet us at the Tenaja trailhead at 8:45 am (driving directions are available on request).

Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.
