EMG is Joining Open Space STL for this trash pickup as part of the Open Space Annual Confluence Trash Bash!!!
So in coordination with Open Space all supplies(bags, gloves etc.) will be provided. There will be free T-shirts and everyone is invited
to the free picnic and family educational event at Riverlands afterward.
And as a reminder, Open Space would designate this trash pick-up as Grade C-heavy trash. And because of possible drug paraphernalia
it is included as C grade. Therefore it is recommended for ages 16 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult with adult's consent,
see on-line consent on the EMG calendar. We will have paper consents also on the day of the event.
EMG has adopted this 2-mile section of the Centennial Greenway for trash pick-up and will plan for quarterly trash pick ups.
We will meet in the parking lot near Half Price Books on the northeast corner of Delmar and McKnight in University City which is the mid-point of our 2-mile section. Coordinates: 38.6618468, -90.3567087 .
Our section of the Greenway extends from Olive Blvd to Shaw Park and we will break into two groups. One group will walk 1-mile north to Olive Blvd and the other will walk 1-mile south to Shaw Park. You will find that you’ll have fun being social with other trash haters during this event.
Bring water-hydration is very important! (Gloves, hand pickers, and garbage sacks will be provided).
Please register and sign the Waiver on the EMG website. Everyone must sign a Waiver.
As always, guns are prohibited.
There is no restroom availability on the trail, however, there is a Schnucks grocery store nearby on the South portion and a Costco and series of other businesses on the Olive end of the trail.
