Step back in time as we explore the trails of Rancho Nipomo, a place once home to Indigenous people and later part of a Mexican land grant awarded to Captain Dana.

Join us for a special docent-led hike of approximately 3 miles with about 200 feet of elevation gain. Along the way, docents will share insights about native plants, local wildlife, and ongoing conservation efforts. Highlights include the Chumash Gardens, a walk along the old Pacific Coast Railroad grade, and a scenic stretch following Adobe Creek past ancient rock outcroppings. We’ll also visit Lookout Point, cross Cat Creek, and pass the historic quarry.

What to Expect:

• Uneven trail surfaces—please wear sturdy hiking shoes
• Learn about the history of Rancho Nipomo, both before and after Captain Dana
• Discover native plants on the property and learn about the stewardship of the Dana Adobe and Rancho Nipomo
