Dr. Erin Benson

Dr. Erin Benson with the Illinois State Archaeology Illinois State Archaeological Survey will be speaking at the Sierra Club Speaker's Series, on relationships between archaeology and conservation.  This talk will discuss the archaeology of southern Illinois and how archaeological practice and cultural resource preservation intersect with conservation in the region.
Erin Benson, PhD, RPA, Coordinator, American Bottom Field Station, Illinois State Archaeological Survey is an Eastern Woodlands archaeologist and the Coordinator of the Illinois State Archaeological Survey’s American Bottom Field Station, located in Collinsville, Illinois. She has worked in Illinois since 2009, receiving her PhD from the University of Illinois, and is interested in community and household archaeology.
