Bio: 
Professor Abby Berk teaches undergraduate and graduate business students in the areas of ethics, social responsibility, and sustainability at the University of San Diego. Her research and teaching draw on the United Nations Global Compact and Sustainable Development Goals and have been recognized with awards for teaching, innovation, and social impact. Abby also serves as the faculty director for USD's commitment to the United Nations program promoting responsible management education.
 

Professor Berk enjoys integrating international experience into the classroom and has worked with students throughout Europe, Asia and Africa including teaching on three voyages of Semester at Sea.

At USD and in the San Diego community, Abby is actively involved in sustainability education and advocacy working towards a cleaner, greener, fairer future for all. Most weekends you will find Abby enjoying her garden or the beach with her husband, 3 kids, and 2 stubborn rescue dogs. 

En-Roads:
Nonprofit Climate Interactive launched the En-Roads climate solutions simulator in 2019 to model the complex systems related to climate change. Developed in collaboration with MIT's Sloan Sustainability Initiative, the simulator incorporates extensive global data that is continuously updated. En-Roads is notable for the simplicity of its interface allowing anyone to explore how different policies and actions interact and shape climate outcomes in both the near and long term. In this Sierra Talks event, we will introduce the En-ROADS tool and invite participants to explore the simulator hands-on, testing and proposing multifaceted climate solutions.
