Big news for the Bay Area! Community advocacy helped secure zero-NOx rules in 2023.
In 2023, the Bay Area Air District adopted groundbreaking zero-NOx standards for residential furnaces and water heaters. This is a huge victory for clean air, public health, and the years of advocacy from community members, health professionals, and climate leaders who spoke up about the harm caused by fossil fuel appliances in our homes.
This win means cleaner indoor air, fewer smog-forming emissions, and a major step toward healthier, all-electric homes especially for communities most impacted by air pollution.
But what do these new zero-NOx rules actually mean? Who is affected? What are the timelines? What support and incentives are available? And what comes next as implementation begins?
Join us for an educational webinar in partnership with community and environmental advocates to break down the zero-NOx rules, hear from policy experts about what changed in 2023, learn how these standards will be rolled out, and share your questions and thoughts.
Thank you to all of our partners and advocates who helped make this victory possible including community members who submitted comments, organizations that pushed for strong standards, public health voices, climate advocates, and most importantly YOU for speaking up and staying engaged.
