Join the Cedar-Wapsie Sierra Club for a morning hike at
Whitewater Canyon on
Saturday, May 16th at 9:30 a.m. We will meet at the trailhead parking lot and follow a Naturalist on a guided hike exploring what this lovely area has to offer. Routes ranging from 3–4 miles on scenic, steep mowed paths. Located just east of Cascade, this 562-acre area features dramatic 200-foot cliffs, overlooks, and the stunning Valley of 13 Caves, one of Iowa’s few true canyons. Carpooling is encouraged. Let Sheri know if you can give or need a ride. Don’t forget sturdy shoes, sunscreen, and bug spray. Optional lunch after the hike!
Bring: Water and Hiking attire
Additional Directions: Located 5 miles east of Cascade. Take Hwy 151 east and turn south onto Curoe Road. Follow the familiar brown county conservation board arrowhead signs. Keep traveling south on Curoe Road until it turns to gravel. (Do not follow curve on highway.) Turn right into the parking lot. We will meet at the trailhead parking lot
