The Clean Water Celebration is held each spring at the Peoria Civic Center in Peoria, Illinois. The largest event of its kind in the world, students learn how to make a difference by protecting water—our most precious resource. Illinois students, teachers, business professionals and environmentalists, are joined by an odd assortment of tiny tadpoles, wiggly worms, native bluegills, and zebra mussels. There’s nothing like it anywhere.
This year's theme is "Water, Linking Our Past to Our Future'. Presenter Dr. Dale Simpson, Anthropological Archaeologist, will talk about water use in the past and what can we learn from archeology about water use in the future.
Registration is required for schools and groups. A walk-in schedule will be available the day of the event for individuals or families.
(The HOI Group display table will be "The Impact of Climate Change on Oceans".)
See the Sun Foundation website for more information.
