We achieved major wins in 2025 and the work done by Sierra Club staff and volunteers was crucial in getting critical environmental legislation passed. In 2026, we are building on the progress we've made and continue fighting to protect Michigan's air, water, soil and citizens.
On May 13, join us for our annual lobby day at the Capitol. You will have the chance to meet with your lawmakers and urge them to support pro environment legislation. What we're advocating for strong environmental guardrails for proposed data center development. As Michigan is rapidly becoming a target for large-scale data center development, the Michigan Sierra Club is calling for a temporary moratorium on all data center development until Michigan legislators agree to a comprehensive state plan that ensures these projects will not harm our communities or our environment.
Sierra Club Michigan Lobby Days are open to everyone, and breakfast and lunch are provided. Your donation of $5 or more helps offset the event costs and provide funding for ongoing legislative work. If the cost is prohibitive please use the code "grassroots" to waive the fee. We also provide comprehensive training and resources to ensure you feel confident and ready to advocate for our issues! More information on our topics and training sessions coming soon! Visit our
Legislative Action Center for updates and to see what we're working on.
