Join us for a community happy hour focused on protecting some of the most wild and irreplaceable landscapes in Southwest Washington.
We’ll gather to discuss the Roadless Area Conservation Act and what it means for our region’s public lands, rivers, and wildlife. Roadless areas safeguard millions of acres of national forest land from new road construction and large-scale logging. It protects clean drinking water, salmon and steelhead habitat, old-growth ecosystems, and opportunities for recreation. In Southwest Washington, these protections are critical to the health of our forests and the rivers that sustain our communities and local economies.
This happy hour will be an opportunity to:
-
Learn about the history and purpose of the Roadless Rule and the proposed federal legislation to codify it.
-
Discuss how changes could impact forests connected to the Columbia River system and our local watersheds.
-
Connect with neighbors, advocates, and conservation partners who care about strong public lands protections.
-
Prepare thoughtful, strategic questions for the upcoming Roadless Rule Town Hall in Portland on April 8th (5:30–8:00 PM).
Whether you’re brand new to this issue or have been engaged for years, this is a welcoming space to learn, strategize, and take action together. Bring a friend, grab a drink, and join us in standing up for clean water, wild salmon, and resilient forests in Southwest Washington.
We look forward to seeing you there!
