GUIDED NATURE WALK with CRAIG HUEGEL:
wildlife biologist, ecological consultant, and lifelong gardener --
author, educator, entrepreneur and noted influencer!
Celebrate Earth Day this year with Sierra Club Loxahatchee Group and the Palm Beach County Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society. We joined forces so we could offer a unique opportunity for our members to meet and interact with noted author and environmentalist Craig Huegel. Among the special activities available during his visit is a guided nature walk.
Craig will take a small group of members on a guided nature hike through the unique hammock located at MacArthur Beach State Park. This wooded area is a locally disappearing example of the interface of coastal and tropical biomes. Enjoy the shade of the hammock canopy, the breeze off the ocean, and Craig's lively commentary as you walk along.
Note: unlike the photo above, there is no boardwalk through the hammock. The path is uneven. Wear appropriate shoes.
Participation is limited to the first 20 registrants from Sierra Club and Florida Native Plant Society.
Gather at the Amphitheater at the entrance of MacArthur Beach. You can't miss us!
Cost: $5.00 entrance fee to MacArthur Beach State Park and $10 donation for the guided walk.
Signup Instructions: Register
Bring: Water, snacks
Additional Directions: Wear clothing and shoes appropriate for a walk on uneven terrain.
