Take a city adventure into Philly to see the new 'Botany of Nations' exhibition at the Academy of Natural Sciences - via train!! 

The 'Botany of Nations' exhibition offers a fresh look at the Lewis and Clark expedition, focusing on the deep store of ethnobotanical knowledge held by indigenous people. The exhibit features artifacts, herbarium specimens, film and a native plant garden. The entire museum is fun for all ages, especially the dinosaur hall!

We will meet at the Claymont Transit Center and take SEPTA Regional Rail. Arrive at Claymont Station at 12:15 pm to get situated for the 12:35 pm train into Suburban Station which arrives at 1:19 pm. Grab lunch before leaving Claymont, or explore lunch options in Philly. It's a seven-minute walk (a few blocks) to the museum. We will leave the museum by 4:45 pm, walk a few blocks and catch the 5:09 pm train back, arriving in Claymont at 5:51 pm. 

NOTE: Be aware that if the 5:09 pm train is unavailable the next train to Claymont leaves Suburban Station at 7:09 pm.

Museum tickets bought online have a $2 discount, making the cost $20 for adults/ $16 for children / $17 for seniors. 

SEPTA fare is $8 one way using a SEPTA Key Card or $11 if you pay with cash or credit card on the train. A SEPTA Key Card can be purchased at Suburban Station for $4.95, which is refunded when you register your card for use.  

Full cost of the outing is $36 to $42 per adult. 

All ages are welcome. The outing is indoors except for walking on level paved terrain from Suburban Station to the museum and back.
