On March 4, the Utah Public Service Commission approved the Utah Renewable Communities program, an affordable clean energy option for residents and businesses in 19 Utah communities. Now, local city councils and county commissions have until June 2 to formally adopt the program.
Join Sierra Club Utah, Stewardship Utah, and HEAL Utah for a virtual kickoff to learn about the program and how you can help bring it to life, whether you live in a participating community or want to support the effort from wherever you are.
What to expect:
Representatives from Utah Renewable Communities will explain how the program works and what it means for Utah families. Then we will share an action toolkit with talking points, council and commission meeting schedules, elected official contact info, and tabling opportunities. After that, we will break into community groups to start planning.
Community breakout rooms:
- Ogden
- Cottonwood Heights
- Eastern Summit County (Coalville, Francis, Oakley)
- Southeast Utah (Moab, Castle Valley, Grand County)
- General (everyone else welcome here)
No experience needed. Come as you are.
