O:SoCal Seven Summits #1–Mt. Hawkins (8,850ft), Throop Peak (9,138ft)

Join us for training hike #1 of the 2026 SoCal Seven Summits where each hike in the series will become progressively longer, steeper, and higher. Our first hike is a moderately strenuous 12.5 miles round trip, 3,400 feet gain from Crystal Lake basin to Mount Hawkins and Throop Peak. No beginners. Leaders: Ladislav Czernek, Mark Mitchell. Email leaders for meeting time and place. This is a backcountry outing; filled-in medical form required. Please register for the outing on line and fill in the medical form there. Also bring the filled-in form on the hike. Cars parked at the trailhead will need to display Adventure Passes. Red flag or heavy rain cancels.

Additional Directions: This is a challenging, strenuous hike. You must be in strong physical condition to participate. Do not plan on being back from the hike early enough to do things in the early evening.
