Redwood National Park Photo Exploration
Explore the magical Redwood National Park and incorporated State Parks with the Camera Committee. We'll spend four days rising and hitting the road for early morning light, scouting and resting midday, and chasing last light opportunities as we sweep the length of park, north to south, looking into all the nooks and crannies for the best images.

We'll spend four days rising and hitting the road before dawn for early morning light, scouting and resting midday, and chasing last light opportunities. We plan to sweep the length of park, north to south, looking into all the nooks and crannies for the best images. Expect light hiking along easy trails and mostly gentle drives. Hope for fog.
Our itinerary could include:
Stout’s Grove * Jedidiah Smith Grove * The Hiouchi Trail * Howland Hill Road * Crescent Beach Overlook * Damnation Creek Trail * Klamath River Overlook * Fern Canyon * Rhododendron Trail * Prairie Creek Redwoods * James Irvine Trail * Lady Bird Johnson Grove * Tall Trees Grove
Leaders will recommend lodging for two nights each in Crescent City and Orick. Meals will be on your own in local eateries and bag lunches.
Dawn comes about 6:00am and Sunset is about 9:00pm.

Signup Instructions: Please use online registration and be sure to read and sign the Sierra Club liability waiver and complete the medical information form.
Recommended Items: An agenda with lodging suggestions and recommended gear will be shared with participants weeks ahead of the outing.
Signup Restrictions: Group size is limited so register early
Additional Directions: Plan ahead to allow a couple of days for the commute from Los Angeles to our gathering place in Crescent City. Our final location will be near Orick, so plan for a couple of days to return to LA.
Carpool: Carpools are advised. Leaders will provide participants with contact/location information so they can make carpool arrangements.
Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.
