Join us on Wednesday, April 8 for exciting developments in our nearby Mojave National Preserve!

The acquisition of the Blair 7IL Ranch represents a pivotal shift for management of the 1.6 million-acre Mojave National Preserve. This presentation by Frazier Haney, Executive Director of The Wildlands Conservancy, will cover the strategic retirement of grazing allotments in Gold Valley and the Colton Hills, focusing on the ecological benefits and future restoration opportunities of the last livestock grazing operation in the Preserve, which is the third-largest National Park unit in the lower 48 and one of the most geologically and biologically diverse regions in the California desert.

Our speaker will also cover the Conservancy's other work in the Mojave and beyond, highlighting key initiatives across the western United States that exemplify our commitment to the organization's enduring commitment to land stewardship.

The Mojave Group meets at the Sterling Inn, 17738 Francesca Rd, Victorville, CA 92395 (just off Ridgecrest Road, one block north of Bear Valley Rd). We meet in the Media Room. It is at the north end of the building. Easiest entry is off Lindero St; park near the NORTH side and enter at the entrance with the overhead carport (near the covered parking area). Refreshments will also be served.
