This moderate 6.7 mile hike includes a 2.7  walk along the Widowmaker’s Trail from the bluff overlooking the Flint River down to the river followed by a 1.3 mile hike on the Long Leaf Pine Trail and ending with a hike back up to the bluff. Highlights include a spectacular view of the Flint River from the overlook/trading post, up close view of rapids along this beautiful piedmont river, hardwood bottomland forest boasting large beech and oak trees, as well as some plant and bird identification along the way.

Bring a picnic, daypack, snack and water bottle. Wear hiking shoes with good tread. Binoculars optional. Dogs are welcome if leashed.

Meet at the Sprewell Bluff Trading Post @ 9:45 am. Parking fee of $5 per car is required. Restrooms are available at both the Trading Post (flush toilets) as well as at the picnic/parking area on the river (porta-jons).
