O: Ernie Howlett Park Hike. 6.1 miles long, 750-foot gain, 3 hours. Park entrance is on Hawthorne Blvd., 1/3 of a mile uphill from Rolling Hills Road. Meet at 8:00 AM at the flagpole at the parking lot at the end of the entrance road. Please arrive early. We will take the Valmonte Canyon, Fern Creek, Jose Path, Boundary, Alondra Path and Butcher Hill Trails. Wear footwear with good traction, bring a snack and water. If you anticipate rain, wear rain gear. No dogs. Minors are permitted if accompanied on the hike by a parent. Leaders: Akram Baluch and Kat Well.
