Fahnstock State Park has lovely ponds dotted all through the park. We will visit two of them on this hike, Beaver Pond and Jordan Pond. We will start our hike from Big Woods Trailhead Parking -Fahnestock, C4WM+2V, Philipstown, NY 10516. The entrance to the parking is from Rt. 301 in Cold Spring. Our path will take us through the woods with beautiful rocks dotting the landscape. After reaching Beaver Pond, we will retrace our steps to the turnoff for Jordan Pond. Lunch will be at the bench overlooking Jordan Pond. After lunch a short walk to our cars. There will be a short, bonus hike up the hill (passing the stables) for a view of the farm, mountains and lake. Appx 4 miles, minimal elevation gain.
