Join us for an engaging presentation with Peggy, a docent at the California State Parks Pismo Beach Monarch Butterfly Grove and co-author of Pismo Monarch Butterflies: Magic, Myths & Mysteries.Peggy will explore the fascinating world of the western monarch butterfly, including its remarkable migration and the changes in monarch populations over time. We’ll look at historic and current western monarch populations and compare them with the eastern monarch population.Why are monarch populations declining? What environmental factors affect their survival? And, most importantly, what can each of us do to help?Come learn more about these beautiful and important pollinators and discover ways you can support monarchs in our own communityThis event is free and open to the public. Please bring a dish or beverage to share during the potluck social hour. We look forward to seeing you.
