July Paddle at Virginia Key
Let's beat the heat by getting out on the water! We will be renting paddleboards at PADL, a company in Virginia Key Beach Park, and exploring the area on the water. This outing will require long periods of sitting and standing while balanced on the paddleboard, often in direct sunlight. Exact route will be determined by conditions day-of, but intend to stay close to sore on calm water for about two hours. Please also be aware that proficiency in swimming is vital to a safe day. Weather permitting, we will be meeting at 9AM, Sunday June 28, 2026, at 3801 Arthur Lamb Jr. Road, Miami FL. Entrance to the county park is $8, and paddleboard rentals are $25 per hour. Please bring water, sun and rain protection, and lunch if you wish. If you have your own personal-flotation device or whisle (for signaling to boats), please bring them, but PFD are included in the rental and the outing leader will have a whistle.
