Description:
Please join the Idaho Climate Justice League for an outdoor painting class, led by local artist Lindsay Battershell!

We'll kick off the event with some get-to-know you activities, and will give an overview of our youth-led activist team and our efforts for energy and climate justice in Idaho. Then, we'll gather on the grass and local artist Lindsay Battershell will lead us through a guided painting class (think Bob Ross style - you're welcome to follow along, or create your own unique creation!). 

There will be plenty of painting supplies provided, and participants are welcome to bring whatever other medium(s) they want to use. This is a great opportunity for Boise-area youth to spend time outdoors, relax and express yourself through art, AND build community with other young people. 

Who is this event for?
This is a youth-led event for any high school and college-aged youth (approx. 15-24). If you have any questions about what to expect, please feel free to reach out! 

What to expect:

2:00 p.m. | Meet at Camels Back Park for intros and tacos!
2:15 p.m. | Begin guided painting class. Follow along with Lindsay's painting, create your own piece inspired by our beautiful surroundings, or something in-between!
4 p.m. | Wrap up painting class

Other considerations

• No dogs please
• Please fill out a separate registration form for each person, so we can have a signed waiver on file for each person and know each individual's dietary preferences, etc. All minors must fill out this registration form with a parent/guardian.
• We expect everyone joining this event to act respectfully and help create a safe and inclusive space for folks from marginalized identity groups. All participants must adhere to the standards of conduct in our Participant Agreement

Cost: Free! Plus, free tacos will be provided.

Recommended Items: Water, sunscreen, clothing appropriate for the weather

Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.

Cancellation Policy: Leaders will check weather conditions the morning of the event. If the weather is considered unsafe, we will postpone the trip to a later date and communicate the new plans with all participants.
