Meet by the loop at the East end of the parking lot.

Fees:
There is pay parking available at the trailhead and the East River Road Garage. Consider taking the 2, 3, or the Green Line to campus. Bike corrals are available at Comstock Hall (210 Delaware St SE).

Description:
Join us for a leisurely out-and-back walk (2.8 miles total) along the East Bank of Mississippi River. We’ll start at East River Flats Park by the UMN campus. We’ll hike along the East River Trail, pass by Bridal Veil Falls, and see stunning views of the Mississippi River from the 1,500-foot-long East River Flats Catwalk. The path is paved with moderate hills. If the lower path is flooded, we’ll take the upper path along East River Parkway instead.

Mandarin oranges will be available for snacking. Please leave furry friends at home for this hike.

Hike rating: 
Easy - flat, paved and short (less than 3 miles if walking, less than 10 miles if bicycling) 

Gear or food/water needs:
Water, sunscreen, and bug spray are a must. Wear comfy shoes and bring rain gear if needed - this event is rain or shine (will be cancelled in the event of severe weather). 

Do you need a ride?
If you need a ride, we can see if anyone else is able to drive. However, due to insurance reasons the Sierra Club cannot arrange carpooling.
