Park: Willow River State Park, WI

Meeting location:

We will meet in front of the Nature Center, located past the Main Entrance to the park.

Fees:
Entrance to the park is $16 per vehicle for non-Wisconsin residents. Passes can be purchased online before you go or at the park’s entrance.  Please allow extra time if you need to purchase one at the park office.

Description:
This popular park east of the Twin Cities features spectacular views of Willow Falls and the Willow River Gorge. The trail is about 6 miles long and has steep hills and stairs in some sections. We will stop at the falls for a while to eat and contemplate the beautiful falls.

Hike rating:
Moderate - The trail has steep hills in some sections, it is unpaved, with rough and uneven ground. The trail may be muddy and slippery.

Specific gear or food/water needs:
Hiking boots with good traction are recommended. Bring a water bottle and a light snack/lunch and a bug spray or bug net. Additionally you may want to bring hiking poles, and binoculars if available. Restrooms are available in the Nature Center.
