☢️☀️📚 Join us for our Virtual Nuclear Summer School Webinar Series! ☢️☀️📚
The nuclear industry is taking off across the country, with uranium mines being proposed across the country from Southern Utah, to New Mexico to the Black Hills. At the same time nuclear energy is being proposed as a climate change solution and a way to power AI datacenters.
Join the Sierra Club of Utah’s Indigenous Solidarity team of the conservation committee to learn more about the history and current effects of this industry on communities. We will here learn about the history of uranium mining and milling particularly on Indigenous lands, the effects of nuclear weapon development and testing, how nuclear energy works, and about the impacts of nuclear waste.
Classes will feature educational lectures, and testimony from directly impacted community members.
