Join us for a backpack along a section of the high Sierras. We will spend the first night in the McGee Creek backpacker's campground where we will shuttle most cars to the ending trailhead. The first day will be the most rigorous as we go to Big McGee Lake, climbing almost 3000 ft in 7.5 mi.  The following days we plan to stop at Tully Lake, Virginia Lake (where we will have a layover day), Pika Lake and then exit over Duck Pass into the Mammoth Lakes area.  Total mileage without optional day hike will be 31 miles, with the optional day hike being up to 10 miles. The leaders will contact you to ensure that you have the proper equipment (including the required bear canisters) and are in shape to successfully complete this trip. As such we will be asking about your equipment and recent hiking and backpacking experiences.


 

Level: Strenuous (7.5 mi 3000 ft gain)

Cost: Share of $41 permit fee - likely $6 plus costs to get to trailhead

Signup Restrictions: Leader must approve your capability to handle this hike/backpack

Cancellation Policy: Activity is held rain or shine, but may be altered due to inclement weather
