Electricity bills are skyrocketing as demand increases and the climate gets hotter and hotter. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) is forecasting a spike in demand for electricity over the next several years. Clean, affordable wind power should play a big part of meeting that demand, but President Trump and some Texas legislators and regulators are doing everything they can to stall the growth of wind energy in the Lone Star State.

Join our webinar on July 16th to hear how your voice and your organizing can play a critical role in making sure wind energy - both onshore and offshore - is a core part of Texas’ energy mix for years to come.

Speakers:

  • Shannon Flores, National Wildlife Federation
  • Dave Cortez, Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter
  • Cyrus Reed, Sierra Club Lone Star Chapter

Wind power has helped keep the lights on and costs down, yet Texas leaders have yet to follow the lead of states like Louisiana, Virginia, and Oregon in pursuing offshore wind. Done right, offshore wind and onshore wind can be built in ways that preserve wildlife migration and habitat, meet growing demand for electricity, and create opportunities for well-paying family supporting clean energy jobs.
