Join the Dallas Sierra Club for a Hike at Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area.

Want to enjoy the natural beauty of the DFW area?  Join the Dallas Sierra Club on a hike to experience the variety of flora and fauna at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area.  We will view two habitats on our hikes (hopefully but not guaranteed-based on conditions at the time).  First a hike of 2.1 miles through bottomland forest and marsh along the Bittern Marsh Trail.  For those interested in continuing we will then hike in the wooded and grassland area of the Blackjack Trail for 2 more miles.  A description of the LLELA is available in Amy Martin’s Book “Wild DFW”.  Also check the LLELA website for information.

The Dallas Sierra Club requests that you do not bring pets, firearms, radios to the hike and refrain from smoking.

Registration: Complete the RSVP (on this page) and the Participation Agreement.  Please have each participant complete a separate RSVP (including any youth).  If youth will attend the event, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the youth.  The adult can register the youth, but please use a separate RSVP.

What to Bring: Comfortable close-toed shoes, water, and your curiosity!

What not to bring: Pets, radios, firearms, tobacco products or alcohol.

Trip Coordinator: For questions contact Jim Robarge at robargeDSC@gmail.com
