Carolina Beach State Park Hike

Join a fun hike of about 3 miles on fairly level sandy trails w/ partial shade in Carolina Beach State Park. We’ll encounter Pines, Cypress, wetlands, ponds, indigenous carnivorous plants, overlooks and the Cape Fear River shoreline. Suitable for ages 8 & up. Bring walking shoes, wide-brim hat, bug spray, water bottle, sunscreen, and a snack. Highlights: ongoing efforts for managing the park, including prescribed burns, trash removal, Flytrap protection, erosion, and water quality issues.  Start and Finish at the Park Marina /restrooms / camp store.

Additional Directions: Once over the Snows Cut bridge get in right lane. Turn right on Dow Rd. After homes see sign for Park and turn right onto State Park Rd. Follow to end past Marina and park in lot on left near trailhead (big sign, refuse bins).
