PNW Climate Week: Walking Meditation
This is a beautiful park at the confluence of the Tualatin and Willamette Rivers. Walking is something that most of us do on a daily basis. Yet do we really pay attention to what we are doing? In this Walking Meditation experiential, the focus is on slowing down and developing concentration and intention with each step we take.

Let's take in the nature around us, together. Walking is something that many of us do, yet do we really pay attention to what we are doing? In this Walking Meditation experience, we'll focus on slowing down and developing concentration and intention with each step we take. What parts of our feet touch the ground as we walk? When does the impulse to move arise? How do we experience stillness? Our approach is to give some instruction before the walking meditation experience and then have some reflective discussion afterward.
For those who are not comfortable walking, bring a comfortable folding chair for an engaging, modified experience.
Willamette Park is a lovely place to hang out and explore urban nature. If you'd like, bring along a lunch and we'll gather afterward for a picnic. While there are some picnic tables in the area, you may want to bring a blanket or folding chair to use.
