The EPA failed North Carolinians. The EMC failed North Carolinians. We need Senator Lee to LEAD!
He must use his powers in the Senate to get his bill across the finish line & protect North Carolinians.
The EPA plans to repeal the PFAS standards that lowered the acceptable level and delay the enforcement of these standards. Our community has spoken loud & clear to the Environmental Management Commission that we at least need state mandated protection from these chemicals - their proposed ‘minimization’ rules will not actually minimize the PFAS in our waters. We need protection from these chemicals - the EPA is not protecting us & the EMC is not protecting us. We deserve clean water. We do not deserve the increased burden of advanced filtration & increased cost.
SO, we will gather as a community at CFRW to write postcards to Senator Lee, asking him to step up to protect us from PFAS toxins dumped into our river from industrial polluters. Our organizations are requesting a meeting with Senator Lee to deliver the postcards in person & discuss his constituents needs for better protection.
