M/E: Rock Practice/Check Practical Exam Register

The Rock practice/checkoff event is a restricted outing.
Please join the Rock and AMP Leadership team for a weekend of practice and checkoff for the rock climbing skills necessary to lead Sierra Club M and E outings.  Approval is required and the participant must apply with the Rock Chair at the following website page:

With the application, all participants are to provide a climbing resume with details on rock climbing skills, achievements and any participation on Sierra Club M/E outings.

All AMP graduates are welcome to attend, but please fill out application.

Preference will be given to AMP graduates and current SC I rated leaders (provisional status OK) with ambitions to achieve M or E rating.

Signup Instructions: To apply for the trip, complete the application on the AMP web page (See URL above) Include your hiking/climbing resume with the application. If accepted on the trip by the leader, return to this page and complete the online registration, liability waiver, and medical form. Acceptance on this trip is pending leader review.

Recommended Items: Participants must supply all climbing gear needed for the M/E checkoff, including their own rope. A typical list of gear can be reviewed at:https://www.advancedmountaineeringprogram.org/p/gear-list.html Also bring: 10 Essentials; first aid kit, sturdy shoes, and regular prescription medications.

Signup Restrictions: Restricted to Sierra Club Members only. A medical form is required and can be accessed as you register. You can preview the medical form as well as the waiver. If you have signs or symptoms of a communicable disease immediately prior to the start of the Outing, you should withdraw from the Outing. Participants are encouraged to be up-to-date and fully vaccinated as defined by the CDC; however, it is not required.

Carpool: The Sierra Club assumes no liability for carpools, ride sharing or anything similar, which are strictly personal arrangements among the drivers and participants.

Note: Carpool transportation is at the sole risk of the participants.
