Join us for an easy, peaceful 1.5 mile walk through the City of Boca Raton’s James A. Rutherford Park, a newly renovated waterfront park along the Intracoastal Waterway. We’ll explore estuarine and mangrove habitats while strolling paved paths, boardwalks, and shaded waterfront trails.

This outing focuses on slowing down and noticing — from schooling threadfin herring beneath the pier to the quiet rhythms of mangrove shorelines. While wildlife sightings may include yellow-crowned night herons, green anoles, crabs, or other coastal species, the primary goal is to enjoy a calm urban natural space together.

An optional guided nature journaling practice will be offered near the end of the walk for anyone interested in observing and recording their experience. No prior journaling experience is needed.

Recommended Items: Hydration, hat, sunscreen, and optional journaling materials.

Additional Directions: We will meet at the bicycle parking area adjacent to the public restrooms.
