Help us make a difference during South Carolina's largest one-day litter cleanup! This year, the Sierra Club is proud to lead the cleanup at Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park, located on the northern side of the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge along the beautiful Cooper River.Mount Pleasant Memorial Waterfront Park99 Harry M. Hallman Jr. Blvd.Mount Pleasant, SC 29464Low Tide: Approximately 8:30 a.m.We'll meet at the edge of the parking lot between the park building and the marsh before heading out to clean the shoreline.Since 1988, more than 168,000 South Carolinians have volunteered for Beach Sweep/River Sweep, removing over 1,320 tons of trash from our beaches, rivers, marshes, and waterways.This event is about more than picking up litter. Volunteers also record the types of trash collected, providing valuable data that helps identify pollution sources and supports education and prevention efforts across the state. Every bottle cap, cigarette butt, and food wrapper documented helps paint a clearer picture of how we can better protect our waterways.Supplies, gloves, and trash bags will be provided.Whether you're a longtime volunteer or joining your first cleanup, everyone is welcome!
