October 3-4 (Saturday-Sunday) Ludlow Hut Work Party: Enjoy optional Friday overnight and Saturday breakfast at the Sierra Club's Clair Tappaan Lodge at no charge. Then spend a rewarding weekend in the high Sierras, preparing one of the Club’s fantastic backcountry huts for the 2026-27 winter season. We will be restocking the hut with firewood, making repairs, and enjoying the fresh mountain air with the company of our work party. Hike or drive to Ludlow from the McKinney Creek OHV Staging area (Rubicon Trail) — 4 mi with 1000 ft. elevation gain — a moderate hike or a technical 4WD drive with sections requiring very careful maneuvering.
