The dirty truth about Ameren? Their Labadie coal plant is the deadliest in the country, and as utilities across the state slash investments in clean energy to build more gas plants, we can't let them continue their failing record.

We have a chance to influence the monopoly utility's long-range plan and demand more clean energy and an end to fossil fuels. We are going to do just that -- and we'll do it in style.

A few years ago, we collaborated with our friends at the People's Joy Parade to host an Ameren People's Parade and People's Hearing, where we donned colorful costumes, carried puppets, and sang and danced our way to Ameren headquarters to demand more from our monopoly utility. It was such a blast we decided to do it again!

You and your family are cordially invited to attend any of our scheduled makers workshops to create puppets, windsocks, and other walkable, wearable art before our main event: a People's Parade and People's Hearing on October 10. We will walk from Lafayette Park to Ameren headquarters wearing art that condemns coal and celebrates a clean energy future.

  • Oct 4, makers event -- 11-4 PM @ Artica, 217 Cedar St, St. Louis, MO 63102
  • Oct 10, Parade and People’s Hearing -- 11-2pm @ Kern Pavillion (start of route), Lafayette Park, St. Louis, MO 63104

Ameren People's Parade and People's Hearing

Registration is required for the makers events and the parade. RSVP today!

Your participation is crucial. We need to show up and tell Ameren's CEO, Marty Lyons Jr., to shutter its coal plants and invest in renewable energy for our communities and for our future. Together, we will build a community that cares about climate and is willing to fight for a future with clean air, clean water, and affordable, renewable energy for all.
