The Orlando wetlands is more than just a birding hot spot, it is also an advanced water reclamation facility! The waste water that this wetland treats is pumped into the St. Johns River and helps prevent algae blooms in this integral body of water. If you would like to learn more about how the Orlando Wetlands functions, how it helps the St. Johns River, and general facts about its wetland ecosystem, consider joining us for a volunteer-led 2-hour tram ride at the Orlando Wetlands!

At 4:45 PM on August 26th, we will meet up at the Wetlands visitors center and then depart on our tram ride at 5:00 PM. This tram ride will be volunteer led, donations to these volunteers are not required but are welcome. We recommend you bring along some water, sun protection, bug spray, and appropriate hiking shoes.
